Services
We are an independent domiciliary care provider, approved by Social Services and monitored by the Care Quality Commission. We offer a high level of care to people in their own homes needing assistance with all day to day tasks across Hastings, Bexhill, Battle, Rye and surrounding areas. We cater to people of all ages, with a range of disabilities and health conditions and ensure that you are treated with dignity and the upmost respect as we are guests in your home.
Our Aim
Our aim, as a domiciliary care provider, is to promote a way of life for service users which allows them to enjoy to the greatest possible extent, their rights as individual human beings. We aim to provide care and support in your own home at times and in ways most convenient to you. We have sound principles for the way in which we run our service. Central to these is our belief that the rights of our service users are paramount. The following key principles are fundamental to our companies work.
Privacy
As individuals it is your right to privacy, to be free from unwelcome attention or intrusion. We understand that everyone receiving domiciliary care may feel anxious by the fact that care workers have to enter their property regularly. All staff are carefully vetted and are required to follow our strict company policy on confidentiality.
Dignity
The right to dignity involves recognising the intrinsic value of people as individuals and the specific nature of each person’s particular needs. We do this by ensuring that all service users have as few care staff assisting them as possible, and we provide an up to date support plan for staff to follow. We involve service users in planning the care they require.
Independence
Independence means having opportunities to think, plan, act and take sensible calculated risks with continual reference to others. We ensure this by helping clients to manage themselves where possible rather than becoming totally dependant on others. Where a service user chooses we can also involve family and friends.
Hoists & Moving Aids
All care staff at Quality Homecare are fully trained to use hoists and other moving aids such as slide sheets and wheelchairs etc. We also ensure staff undertake a moving and handling course during induction and a moving and handling refresher course at six monthly intervals.
Staff
All staff are trained to the National Care Standards and come equipped with a caring attitude and a good sense of humor to match all needs. Before our staff are allowed to care for our service users they undergo a police check, induction course, a moving and handling course and shadowing.
Training
Our in-house training facilities, located at our registered office, enable us to offer an extensive range of training courses and workshops. We also offer further training courses and workshops off-site with registered trainers. We have a number of staff who have received training by Sussex Partnership Trust in Positive Behaviour Support for people who present Challenging Behaviour. Our staff are required to attend regular courses and workshops to help further their knowledge and understanding and to develop new skills; thus ensuring we continue to provide a quality service to our clients.
